A Prayer For the 9 Souls

Dear Heavenly Father,

We pray and ask first and foremost for healing for all the grieving families who have lost loved ones in the tragedy that was set before us this past Sunday.

We have a lot of questions for you Father, and they are numerous. At this moment there is a lot of questioning happening in the world. We pray, Lord, that you are able to give us a step towards these answers. You know our hearts. You know our thoughts. We know that You are the keeper of time and understanding, and so we ask that You may give us the faith, courage, strength and hope to take the first steps with You to get through this tragedy.

Right now for us those first steps to discovering the answers starts on the basketball court, where we know that Kobe, Gianna, Alyssa, Payton, and Christina all shared with us a great connection through this sport. Heavenly Father we just want to give honor and praise to You today by lifting up the 9 souls that were lost and were taken from us:

Kobe and Gianna Bryant

John, Keri and Alyssa Altobelli

Sarah and Payton Chester

Christina Mauser

Ara Zobayan

We pray that You are able to let us honor them and celebrate their lives, as they have given our lives a significant new meaning.

Most of all, Heavenly Father, I pray for peace and patience with one another as we all share this grief and pain as a world community.
