Wisdom vs. Ignorance

We each have the freedom to choose to be wise or to choose to be ignorant.

Wisdom vs. Ignorance

Racism as a conflict can be reflected in the battle between wisdom vs. ignorance. Here, I explore this idea to fulfillment:

In the mind, wisdom most demonstrates humility in that it considers many options and chooses the best one possible (It is important to note that even a “smart” decision doesn’t necessarily make the best choice as the wise decision does).

In the mind, ignorance demonstrates pride and stubbornness as it chooses to remain in its own limited options, with not even the consideration of depth of decision. Not only is ignorance shallow, it is also stupid by definition; most of the time, if not every time, the choice ignorance makes will reflect this.

In the heart, wisdom as an emotion is kind and compassionate, as it carries an understanding…it earnestly seeks knowledge of the things it does not understand, and never tires of the relentless pursuit of its emotional capacity.

In the heart, ignorance as an emotion is inconsiderate. It is also very lazy, neither seeking nor caring to learn more on widening its capacity to learn more.

Racism as a conflict

There’s a saying “ignorance is bliss”. In a lot of ways, this saying is perfectly true, which can be a little disheartening for someone who always wants to seek more knowledge.

In my opinion, the next challenge for humanity moving forward is to adopt a new saying “wisdom is blessed”; because while some may find a momentary (or lifetime of) bliss living in their ignorance, there is a greater universe of blessings for those who pursue and serve the purpose of wisdom.
